Herbert Carl “Granddude” Banks, age 80, of Reidland, KY passed away at 7:10 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Herbert was a United States Army Veteran and he retired from South Central Bell Telephone as a payphone technician with 34 years of service. He was a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ, he was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan, and he loved playing golf.
Survivors include his wife of 59 and a half years, Rosa… Lee Crooks Banks; one son, Herbert C. Banks II and wife, Dee, of Reidland, KY; two granddaughters, Jordan Banks and Sidney Banks; five sisters, Sharon Luchesi, Phyllis Galindez, Janie Castleman, Linda Neihoff, and Dana Estes; four brothers, Russell Banks, Morris Banks, Billy Banks, and James Banks; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin L. Banks and Juanita Hayden Banks; his sister, Eula Mae Bass and one infant sister.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Paul Wingfield officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
