In a special-called meeting of the Marshall County Fiscal Court on Monday, August 26, Chris Freeman, E-911 Director, presented their proposed budget recommendation for the department. The court approved a budget for 2020 of 1.9 million, which is nearly double the previous budget. Money to cover the budget will come from a $7 fee tacked on to county resident’s electric meter bill.
The court heard from Sheila Day – 911 Communications Supervisor, John Townsend – Assistant Director of 911, Andrew Vaughn a dispatcher and others who spoke to the importance of this budget ordinance to the future of Marshall County E-911.
