A recent guest on Coffee Call, here pictured with WCBL’s Chris Freeland, was Master Gardener Barbara Ray. Ray joins us on the first Monday of each month and shares her wisdom of growing and taking care of flowers and plants. She says when you cut flowers to take inside, be sure to get them in water quickly and it helps to put them in a mixture of three tablespoons of sugar along with two tablespoons of white vinegar. This will cut down on bacteria and keep your flowers looking fresh for up to five days longer.
