Mr. L.E. Poe, 90 of Norfolk, VA, died on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk, VA. He was a retired project manager for Seacor. He was a veteran of the US Navy, retiring after 30 years of service.
Born Wednesday, November 21, 1928 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Martin Luther Poe and the late Hallie Comet (Reeves) Poe.
Surviving are sons, Larry Poe of Wisconsin, Jonathan Poe of Norfolk, VA, Harold Poe of Norfolk, VA and Peter Poe of Norfolk, VA, brother, Billie Poe of Benton, KY; 9 grand children; 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Leota (Parkes) “Patsy” Poe, son, Paul Poe, brother, Bobby Poe, and sister, Vanda Voisine.
A Graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at New Hope Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Benton, KY. Rev. Jim Woolridge will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky 42025.
