Rev. Curtis Harrell, 76, of Calvert City, KY went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY. He was a retired Southern Baptist preacher and veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Vonda Louise (Yost) Harrell.
Born in Jackson, TN, he was the son of the late Edgar Lee Harrell and the late Opal Irean (Manley) Harrell.
Surviving are son, Allen Harrell, wife Lona of Calvert City, KY; daughter, Angela Hooper of Calvert City, KY; sister, Helen Eades of Peoria, IL; grandchildren, Bailey (Harrell) Myers, husband Cody of Benton, KY; Drew Hooper, wife Jayna of Coweta, OK; Amanda (Harrell) Wiseman, husband Colby of Benton, KY; Kaitlynn Hooper of Louisville, KY; and great-grandchildren, Graham Myers and Lincoln Wiseman of Benton, KY.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Barbara Pfisterer and Jane Monohon.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Benton, KY 42025 with Rev. Bill Gross, Rev. John Hagan, and Bro. Drew Hooper officiating.
Interment will follow in Marshall County Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 26, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
