Mike Falconite, age 62, of Paducah, KY passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital.
Mike was born on November 10, 1956 to the late Joe Falconite and Betty Lou Falconite. Mike followed in his father’s footsteps working alongside him at Falconite Cranes. After moving the business from Cairo to Paducah, he expanded the company to span multiple states and employed hundreds of people. After retiring from the heavy equipment industry he found a new passion for real estate in his home town of Paducah. He used his rare ability of being able to see a completed project before even breaking ground to develop some of Paducah’s most well know properties. Mike had a strong affection for Paducah and was determined to invest his time, talents, and vision in his community to help develop and expand it into what it is today.
When not at work, Mike enjoyed hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. These passions took him on adventures to multiple states and countries in search of prized game. He also enjoyed time spent boating at Kentucky Lake.
Mike will be remembered by those who loved him as a man in jeans and boots who had a huge heart and was always willing to help others in need. Mike was humble and tried to give the benefit of the doubt to anyone he encountered. He was a fair and passionate man who was incredibly generous and charitable.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Nicki Roof and husband, Kenny of Paducah; his son, Joe Falconite of Paducah; his mother, Betty Lou Oakes Falconite of Paducah; and seven grandchildren, Jack Roof, Ellie Roof, Haley Falconite, Cooper Falconite, Michael Falconite, Johnathon Falconite, and Camron Falconite.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Falconite.
