Marshals play in National Monument Hoopfest in Washington D.C.

Over the weekend, the Marshals played in the The Grind Session’s National Monument Hoopfest in Washington, D.C. at Woodrow Wilson High School. Sight-seeing around our nation’s capital was intertwined with three very tough, competitive basketball games.

Friday, the Marshals played Arundel Christian (MD), and led by 20 points from game MVP Tyler Stokes, the Marshals won 58-47. Arundel Christian was led by Talib Ferrette with 12 points.

In their second game on the Hoopfest on Saturday, the Marshals fell 71-64 to Takoma Academy (MD). Marshall County led by 12 points at halftime but were out-scored by Takoma Academy by 18 points in the second half. Takoma Academy was led by Robert Booker with 24 points, earning Most Valuable Player. The Marshals were led by Stokes with 24 points and nine rebounds.

The Marshals played National Christian Academy (MD) Sunday in their final game of the National Monument Hoopfest. Leading by 10 points at halftime, the Marshals fell behind by four at the end of the third quarter and were out-scored by two points in the fourth quarter to fall 65-59 to NCA. They were led in the win by Jakai Robinson with 22 points, earning game MVP honors. Stokes dropped in 24 points in his second straight game of the Hoopfest to lead the Marshals in scoring.
