
Sunday wrapped up the 20-game five-day 2018 Hoopfest with three games starting with Prolific Prep, CA and Athens Prep, TN. Prolific Prep wrapped up a successful Hoopfest in their 84-52 win over Athens Prep, sweeping all three of their games starting with an 86-65 win Friday over Aspire Academy and Saturday’s 94-86 win over Our Saviour Lutheran.
Mawot Mag, a 6’7″ guard from Australia, led Prolific Prep with 19 points, Mitchell Dance had 17 and Coleman Hawkins added 14. Darlinstone Dubar led Athens Prep with 15 points. Dance was selected game MVP.

Lyon County met Elliott County, KY out of Region 16, in game two on Sunday, in a meeting of the state’s top seventh and eighth grade players. Lyon County’s Travis Perry is considered the top seventh grade player in the state, while Elliott County’s Colin Porter one of the top eighth graders.
Elliott County won 77-61 behind 37 big points and 12 rebounds from senior Korbin Spencer and 20 points from senior Gage Evans. Lyon County senior Gabe Board led the Lyons with 21 points and sophomore Kade Blackburn scored 17. Spencer’s double-double earned him Most Valuable Player.

The final Hoopfest 2018 game in Sunday’s session sponsored by Tanager Sports, featured Wesley Christian, KY against St. Louis Christian, MO. St. Louis Christian won 63-55 getting 12 points from Ramone Woods that earned the senior Most Valuable Player. The team from Wesley Christian is full of international players from Denmark, Sudan, Tunisia and Germany. C.J. Soll led St. Louis Christian in the win with 17 points, Arol Kacuol led Wesley Christian with 14 points, 11 rebounds.
