
Our Saviour Lutheran, NY and Prolific Prep, CA opened the Saturday afternoon session of the Marshall County Hoopfest. Both teams won their first Hoopfest game on Friday, Our Savior Lutheran beat Tennessee Prep and Prolific Prep over Aspire Academy. Prolific Prep came out on top 94-86 getting 40 points and 13 rebounds from game MVP Nimari Burnett, a four-star class of 2020 prospect. Burnett had 27 points in their Friday win over Aspire Academy. Prep’s Alimamy Koroma from West Africa has committed to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Our Saviour Lutheran was led by Seton Hall commit Dashawn Davis with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Davis scored 23 in Friday’s win over Tennessee Prep. Class of 2020 four-star guard Posh Alexander who has offers from Penn State, Seton Hall and St. John’s had 14 points and 12 rebounds before sustaining an injury in the final minutes of the game.

Belleville West picked up their second win of the Hoopfest, beating Callaway, MS 74-68. Senior forward Will Shumpert led Bellevivlle with 23 points, earning Most Valuable Player of the game. E.J. Liddell who had 42 points Friday in their win over Madisonville-North Hopkins, scored 22 points. Daeshun Ruffin who led Calloway with 20 points against UHA, scored 29 in the loss to Belleville West.

Game three Saturday evening featured Curie, IL and Raleigh-Egypt, TN, a team that replaced Memphis-East who pulled out of the Hoopfest. A close, competitive game all the way through, both teams were tied at 18 after the first quarter with Curie taking a one point lead into the locker room at halftime. Curie held a one point lead after three quarters and at the final buzzer won 72-69. They were led by Kansas State bound Dajuan Gordon with 17 points, and the game MVP. Deovaunta Williams led Raleigh-Egypt with 21 points and 20 each came from Christopher McKnight and Quintavious Bailey.

Following the Marshall County and Pendleton County game, the final game Saturday was between Tennessee Prep and Aspire Academy, KY. Both teams looking for a win after losing their Friday games. Tennessee Prep came out on top 84-73, led by MVP Damion Baugh. The senior point guard has offers from Memphis State, Georgia Tech and Western Kentucky to name a few. Baugh had 26 points in their loss Friday to Our Saviour Lutheran. Prosper Obidiebube led Aspire Academy with 21 points.
