
Marshall County’s Lady Marshals took the floor in the third game Thursday against Massac County, winning 67-47 in their first game of the season and giving first-year head coach Dan Langhi his first win. Massac County led by as many as six points twice in the first quarter before two 3-pointers by Tera Colson and Presley Jezik tied the game 13-13 at the end of the quarter.

The Lady Marshals took their first lead in the second quarter following two straight baskets by Whitnee Miller that put them up 17-16, but the Lady Patriots scored the final seven points of the half to lead 23-19 at halftime.
Marshall County out-scored Massac County 18-8 in the third quarter after falling behind by seven, led by Halle Langhi with seven points to boost the Lady Marshals to a 37-31 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Kendra Waldon and Farrah Castleman combined for the first six points of the fourth quarter for Massac County to tie the game at 37. Tied up again at 41, the Lady Marshals finished out the game out-scoring the Lady Patriots 16-6 for the 10-point win.
Langhi led the way for the Lady Marshals with 21 points and 12 rebounds, earning the freshman the Most Valuable Player award. Senior Tera Colson scored 11 points followed by Cayson Conner with eight. Massac County was led by Kendra Waldon with 19 points and Farrah Castleman with 15. The Lady Marshals will play again in the Hoopfest on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. against Lakeway Christian, TN.
