Mr. Gerald “Jerry” D. Phelps, age 84 of Benton, KY died on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, KY. He was retired from Rail Services and was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Phelps was a member of Maple Hill Church of Christ and the American Legion.
Born Thursday, November 23, 1933 in Benton, KY, he was the son of the late George Moss Phelps and the late Hallie (Story) Phelps.
Surviving are brother, Jimmy Phelps, wife Marilyn of Benton, KY, nieces, Patricia McKinney of Reidland, KY, Pam Thompson, husband Tim of Benton, KY, and Paula Bowling, husband Steve of Calvert City, KY.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with David Lemmons officiating.
Interment will follow in Salyers Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
