Mary Charlene Dawes, age 91, passed away in Nashville, TN on October 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her daughter Janice Raye Dawes Anderson, her parents Elta and Mary Hawkins Heath, and brothers Lawrence, Bill, Lewis, Virgil and Joe Heath.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 72 years, Ray J. Dawes, son-in-law Ken Anderson and many nieces and nephews. Charlene was born in Marshall County Kentucky on December 5, 1926 and resided in the area for most of her life until relocating to Tennessee in 2011 to be near her daughter Jan.
She will be remembered for her outgoing and vibrant personality and as someone who was always smiling and happy. She will also be remembered for her tremendous work ethic, working for many years as an Executive Assistant for Union Carbide until her retirement.
Visitation will be held at Collier Funeral Home on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 11:00 am until the service time of 2:00 pm. Reverend Mike Hunt will officiate. Burial will follow in Briensburg Baptist Church Cemetery.
