Mr. James “Buzzard” Jackson, 75, of Murray, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House. James was born on February 2, 1943 in Murray, Kentucky to the late Jiles and Rozell Blanton Jackson. He worked hard throughout his lifetime. He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Otis Johnson, Thomas Jackson and one sister, Lauretta Ward.
He leaves to cherish his memory companion of 40+ years Ann Foster, Murray, KY, her sons Russell (Loraine) Foster, Hendersonville, TN, Michael Foster, Murray, KY, his sons Kenneth Gregory Jackson, Murray, KY, James Allen Cavitt, Atlanta, GA, James Douglas Foster, Murray, KY; daughters Teresa Jackson Jones, Murray, KY, Lucindia (Darren) Yon, Spring Lake, NC; uncle Wilton Jackson, Radcliff, KY, brother Dennis (Patricia) Jackson, Paducah, KY; sisters Elizabeth Hudspeth, Saginaw, MI, and Cozzette Mazique, Houston, TX. 24 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Jackson will be held at 1 PM on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray. Timothy Davis will officiate. Entombment will follow in Murray City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10:30 AM until the funeral hour at the Heritage Chapel. Online condolences available at www.imesfh.com.
