Marshall County Schools would like to congratulate two MCHS students on their award-winning performances at this year’s National Beta Convention. Alex Colburn, a senior, placed 6th nationally in science. Jacob Largent, a junior, placed 4th nationally in math.

Other MCHS Beta Club representatives competing at the convention included Carson Wright, Luke Wyatt, Cole Wyatt, and Christian Cosner.

Students invited to compete at Nationals must first have placed in the top three in their respective categories at the state-level Beta convention; Kentucky’s state convention was held in January.

More than 20,000 people across the country attended this year’s National Beta Convention, held in Savannah, Georgia.

The National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America, with more than 500,000 active members and more than 8,750 clubs nationally and internationally. The organization’s goal is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.

Congratulations to Alex, Jacob, and all of the MCHS Beta Club representatives on their achievements!
