Lady Marshals honor Bailey Holt on 16th birthday

Before the Lady Marshals took the field against Trigg County Tuesday, they took time to remember classmate Bailey Holt on what would have been her 16th birthday, with a special balloon release.

The Lady Marshals then wasted no time putting runs on the board, scoring four in the first inning on their way to a 10-0 win in six innings on 13 hits. The first inning runs came on a wild pitch after Sarenna Tomassi and Cayson Conner led off with walks. Two runs scored on Presley Jezik’s double and a run scored on a double by Gracey Murt.

A sacrifice fly by Kaycee Kemp in the third inning made it a 5-0 game and in the fourth inning, two more runs scored on an error and single by Riley Piercefield. Tomassi scored on a passed ball and Conner on a ground ball by Layne Pea in the fifth to give the Lady Marshals a 9-0 lead and the final run came on a double by Hairgrove in the sixth.

Aubree Jo Kemp and Gabbi Lovett combined to pitch the shut-out win, both pitching three innings.

The Lady Marshals play two games Saturday at home starting with a 10:00 am game against Hickman County and 4:00 against South Warren.
