Children in the Kentucky foster care system will begin 2018 with new duffle bags to hold their belongings. Kentucky State Police cadet class No. 488 pooled their money to purchase and donate the bags to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services earlier this week at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond. Cadets donated the duffle bags in honor of fallen Kentucky State Police Trooper Cameron Ponder, the Post No. 1 trooper assigned to Trigg County who was shot and killed on duty Sept. 13, 2015.
