Marshall County Schools lost one of their great supporters and a truly great friend Thursday. Dennis Joseph, former Marshall County High School teacher and keeper of the clock for football and basketball, passed away at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Joseph began keeping the clock at North Marshall High School for both sports in 1970, never missing a home basketball game until January 2012, a span of over 500 basketball games and approximately 200 football games.
Joseph was inducted into the Marshall County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012 for his outstanding contributions to Marshall County sports. He has been the most constant presence in Marshall County High School athletics since consolidation and continued to keep the clock at both basketball and football games through the 2016 season.
His court side presence at Marshall County basketball games will be greatly missed by all those associated with the program.
Funeral Services for Joseph will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 1:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
