
Two western Kentucky women were arrested Sunday, after Kentucky State Police troopers say they found drugs and paraphernalia during a traffic stop in Gilbertsville.
According to KSP, troopers stopped a passenger car at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Gilbertsville on suspicion of speeding. Troopers conducted a search of the vehicle during the stop and allegedly located drugs, paraphernalia and a sum of money. Troopers also found drugs during a search of a passenger in the car, according to KSP.
Police arrested the driver, Lisa A. Ferguson, 54, of Clinton, and Kaitlin L. Myrick, 25 of West Paducah.
Ferguson was charged on suspicion of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and no insurance.
Myrick was charged on suspicion of first-degree trafficking of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (Percocet), second-degree possession of a controlled substance (Xanax), second-degree possession of a controlled substance (Suboxone), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
Both were taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing.
