Man accused in connection to McCracken shooting arrested in Benton

An Indiana man was arrested last week in Benton after an alleged shooting incident in McCracken County.

According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, deputies on Wednesday, Oct. 4 assisted the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office in locating a suspect in the Tuesday shooting. Deputies located Joshua Ray Spoonamore of Plainville, Ind., about 2:23 p.m. Wednesday at a Benton gas station.

Police approached Spoonamore to arrest on suspicion of first-degree assault and an outstanding warrant from Indiana. Further investigation led to additional charges in the incident, including driving on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
