MC senior citizens make prayer blankets for children affected by hurricanes

The Marshall County Senior Citizens work on a Covering for Christ prayer blanket Thursday. Blankets will be distributed to children affected by recent hurricanes.

The Marshall County Senior Citizens have been working to bring a little comfort to children affected by recent hurricanes in the U.S.

The organization, in conjunction with Unleashed Ministries of Paducah, to make Covering for Christ prayer blankets to distribute to children who have lost possessions and homes in hurricane devastated regions. Blankets are made by knotting the edges of fabric together, saying a prayer for every knot tied on the blanket.

Group members hope to have 250 blankets completed by Christmas.
