Neal announces intent to seek re-election

Marshall County Judge-Executive Kevin Neal

Marshall County Judge-Executive Kevin Neal on Friday announced his intent to seek re-election to the county judge’s seat.

Neal, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and former Paducah Police officer, was elected as the county’s first Republican judge-executive in 2015 during a special election to fill the seat left vacant by the death of 40-year Judge Mike Miller. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and resident of Benton.

In a letter of intent addressing Marshall County residents, Neal said he had worked to bring changes to county government, including increased transparency and new ideas for economic development. Moving forward Neal hopes to continue that momentum through to its conclusion, finding land to purchase and develop as an industrial park in the county.

Neal is the first candidate for the office to announce his intent to run in 2018 election.

Intent to Run Announcement

August 18th, 2017

Citizens of Marshall County-

I was honored to be elected judge executive in 2015. So many told me they were ready for a new direction. I ran into voters who were eager to see new ideas implemented and existing ideas built upon to bring about greater economic development. A transparent county government accountable to the taxpayer was a must. And finally, infrastructure such as water and sanitation had to top the list.

Myself and my office have worked very hard to bring about as many positive changes as attainable since I took office. There is almost nothing regarding my office and the fiscal court that can’t be found on our new county website. Funds have been allocated to our economic development department. It’s my desire to find and purchase the needed land for an industrial park. Dedicated reserves are no longer empty. They contain money that will be allocated for critical infrastructure projects and used for emergencies.

These are just a few of the critical issues facing our county. The work is just getting started, and I want to see it through. It’s with our shared values and my perspective on leadership and community engagement that I ask you to support my re-election bid for Marshall County Judge Executive.

Sincerely,

Judge Kevin Neal
