Gilbertsville man charged in Monday stabbing incident

A local man is facing charges after police say he stabbed a man in the chest.

According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded this morning to a residence on Hawkeye Street in Gilbertsville in reference to a disturbance. Police say investigation revealed David Reason III, 33, of Gilbertsville, stabbed Billy Mitchell of Gilbertsville in the chest.

Mitchell was taken to Marshall County Hospital via EMS; his condition was unknown as of 6 p.m. Monday.

Reason was arrested and charged with first-degree assault in connection to the incident. He was taken to Marshall County Detention Center.

The investigation remains ongoing.
