Mr. Hayden E. Cassity, 81, of Benton passed away at 11:06 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Murray Calloway County Hospital in Murray.
He was a member of Union Ridge Baptist Church, retired from BF Goodrich and was a lifelong farmer raising primarily Charolais cattle. Born Thursday, April 2, 1936, in Trigg County, he was the son of the late Albert Cassity Sr. and the late Gracie Wavel (Higgins) Cassity.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years and six days, Mary (Jones) Cassity; sons, Dr. David Cassity, wife Lisa of Benton, and Mark Cassity of Murray; brothers, Anthony Cassity of Benton, Bob Cassity of Cadiz, Albert Cassity Jr. of Hot Springs, Ark.; grandchildren, Julie Cassity of Paducah, Will Cassity of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, James Cassity and George Cassity; sisters, Barbara Cassity Queen and Mildred Cassity.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025, with Rev. Jack Kee officiating. Interment will follow in Ferguson Springs Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017, at Collier Funeral Home.
