Martin, Grant finish fourth at KHSAA Region 1 Tournament

KUTTAWA – Tanner Martin and Gavin Grant following their first place finish at the Crittenden County Fishing Tournament with a fourth place finish among 75 teams in Saturday’s KHSAA Region 1 Tournament on Lake Barkley. Martin and Grant caught a five-fish limit of 14 lbs. 12 ozs.

Muhlenberg’s Taylor Harris and Braxton Beasley took first with five fish weighing in at 23-4, following by McCracken’s Daniel Schroeder and Westley Dunn in second with a five fish total of 15-10 and third went to Trigg’s Robert Deason and Andrew Greene with a five fish total of 14-12.

Behind Martin and Grant in fourth, five other Marshall County teams competed Saturday. Conner Washburn and Riley Harris placed 11th with four fish weighing 12-12, Brandon Raye and Barrett Washburn placed 29th with two fishing weighing 7-13, Tanner Smith and Clayton Bailey caught two that weighed 3-15, Tristan Barrett and Corben Green caught one weighing 2-14 and Colin Howell and Bremmerkamp weighed one fish in at 2-1.

The 75 teams competing caught 172 fish at a total weight of 481-13.

The KHSAA State Fishing Championship will be held May 11-13 at Kentucky Dam Marina.
