Walker pleads not guilty to wanton endangerment charges

A Marshall County woman accused of firing a shotgun at ATV’s that were on her property in February has pleaded not guilty.

Bonita Walker, 56, of Salem Chapel Road, appeared in Marshall County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

On the afternoon of February 19th Deputy Chris Greenfield and Deputy Luke Rudd responded to Salem Chapel Road in reference to a report of shots fired at an ATV and someone being held at gunpoint.

Upon arrival, Deputies were taken to a field where the situation was ongoing. According to a citation filed by Deputy Greenfield, ATV riders were riding in an area with permission but had crossed onto adjoining property.

They were stopped by a woman identified as Walker who reports owning the property.

During the incident that ensued, Walker is alleged to have fired multiple rounds into ATVs while people were on them and had pointed a gun at the riders.

One round missed a rider by approximately 2 inches.

Walker was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree.

The next court date has not been scheduled.
