
MURRAY – Matthew French scored the first four points for the Marshals against Calloway County Friday, also getting two points from Aaron Reed, a 3-pointer by Houston Harvey and two straight three’s by Bryce Flatt to end the first quarter with a big 15-4 lead that set up their 36-25 district win over the Lakers.

Calloway County out-scored the Marshals 9-5 in the second quarter led by Kamden Price with five points while the Marshals scoring came from French and Flatt with his third three of the game for a 20-13 halftime lead.
Baskets by French and Dylan Walters and a three a piece by Harvey and Reed combined for the Marshals 10 third quarter points, out-scoring the Lakers by one to lead by eight, 30-22, going into the fourth quarter.
Both teams combined for nine fourth quarter points, six for the Marshals led by Walters with three while Calloway’s only field goal came on a 3-pointer by Jeremy Darnell.
French and Flatt led the Marshals with nine points each in the win. French led with nine rebounds while Flatt went 3 of 4 from 3-point range. The win improves the Marshals record to 10-4 and their next game will be Tuesday at home against Paducah Tilghman (9-6).
