Kentucky Lake Chamber of Commerce warns of advertising scam

The Kentucky Lake Chamber has been made aware that someone is calling on some of our local businesses trying to sell ad space in a community guide or possibly on a magnet.

They are saying that they working with Marshall County to solicit support for their product.

The Chamber is not associated with this company in any way and does not endorse their efforts.

We do not know the legitimacy of their business and advise you to use extreme caution if they call you.

This particular business is UAC or Universal Adcom out of Arlington, Texas.

ALWAYS BEWARE of any business selling ads on anything coming out of Arlington, TX because they are notorious for taking money for advertisements and not producing product promised.

As always, check with the mentioned organization first before buying advertising on community projects like this to make sure it is a legitimate project.

The Tribune-Courier produces our local Community Guide and the 2017 edition is just out.

The Chamber tries to notify you ahead of time if we are endorsing a project of this nature.

We appreciate our members who inquire and let us know about situations like this so we can pass it along.
