Spirit of the holidays alive at annual Dickens Festival and Parade

olafBENTON – The Benton Partnership and the City of Benton presented the annual Dickens Christmas Festival and Parade Saturday. Many local business’ got involved in the event that is always fun for the whole family, a chance to travel back in time to the Victorian era.

Cookies with Santa led the festivities off followed by a Chili fundraiser. The Power Wheels Car Show took place at 4:00 then Dickens Alley opened at 4:30 along with the Frozen Plaza and Holiday Square.

Before the parade, members of the Marshall County High School Choir sang Christmas Carols on the court square. Santa’s Workshop Parade began at 6:00 and was a sight to behold for young and old.

Hardin Church of Christ took first in the parade float competition followed by Twin Lakes Worship Center in second.
