Lady Marshals pick up district win over CFS

DRAFFENVILLE – Once again, the in-county neighboring volleyball teams of Marshall County and Christian Fellowship played competitive, inspired 4th District volleyball Tuesday evening at CFS. The Lady Marshals came away with a 3-1 win following four hard-fought sets between the two squads.

CFS won the first set 25-22 followed by a second set reminiscent of their first meeting this season, with the Lady Marshals pulling away to win 31-29. Behind net play from Hannah Langhi and Alexis Hines, the Lady Marshals won the final two games, 25-21, 25-13.

Paige Henson had 31 assists in the win, Hannah Langhi 34 kills, Alexis Hines 8 kills, Clara Bradley 5 digs and the team served up 5 aces.

The Lady Marshals played in Queens of the Court this past weekend at Central Hardin, losing three games 2-0 to tough opponents, Region 5’s Taylor County (17-2), Region 6’s Bullitt East (10-3) and from Region 7, Kentucky Country Day (10-4).

The Lady Marshals will host McCracken County Thursday and celebrate the first-ever Marshall County Volleyball alumni night.

CFS (9-5) spent their weekend playing in the Region 1 All ‘A’ Classic in Paducah, finishing with a 4-2 record in the All ‘A’ with wins over Ballard Memorial, St. Mary, Hickman County and Carlisle County. Their two losses came from Community Christian Academy who won all six of their games.

The Lady Eagles will play Murray at home on Thursday.
