Jerry Harold Burnett, age 86 of Benton, KY died on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at his home. Mr. Burnett was retired from Penwalt where he worked as an Accountant and Financial Manager. He was a member of Benton First United Methodist Church and honorably served his country in the US Navy and Marine Corps. Born Sunday, July 13, 1930 in Symsonia, KY, he was the son of the late William Rieke Burnett and the late Lela Marie (Roach) Burnett. He is survived by grandchildren, Jerry Wayne Boyd of Murray, KY, Ashley Katherine Mason of St. Louis, MO, and great grandchildren, Jordan Boyd and Damon Boyd of Murray, KY and Sarah Elizabeth Mason and Allison Katherine Mason of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice Katherine (Hiett) Burnett and daughter, Cheri Dian Boyd. A Graveside Funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Benton Cemetery with Rev. Mark Stephens officiating. Interment will follow. No public visitation is scheduled.
