On Thursday June 2nd Deputy Luke Rudd was dispatched to I-24 eastbound at the 22 mile marker in reference to a one vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival Deputy Rudd located the vehicle off the right side of the roadway in a tree line. Deputy Rudd made contact with the driver and there was a strong odor of alcohol present. The driver admitted to having multiple drinks in a span of 2 hours and should not have been driving. Robert J. Posey 23, of Calvert City, was arrested and charged for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence.
