Virginia Wade, 94 of Calvert City, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Mercy Health – Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
Virginia was born in Calvert City, Kentucky on October 1, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther Davis and Rosie Mae Modglin Davis. She worked for many years as a cook before retiring from Calvert City Elementary School. Virginia enjoyed spending time reading, sewing and cooking. More than anything, she loved her family. Virginia was a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Travis; son, Robert “Emmil” Wade, wife, Diane all of Calvert City, KY; two grandchildren, Melissa Stevenson and Chad Stevenson of Ledbetter, KY; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Stevenson and Johnavinn Stevenson of Benton, KY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Wade; son, Floyd Martin Wade; brothers, James “Peck” Davis, Ralph Davis and L.A. Davis, sisters, Margaret Redden and Dora Davis.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025. Burial will follow at Calvert City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Collier Funeral Home.
