Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is encouraging citizens to take an active role in the upcoming Primary Election by serving as precinct election officers, or poll workers.
Approximately 15,000 Kentuckians will be needed to help administer the election on May 17.
To be qualified to be a precinct election officer a person must be 18 years of age on or before November 8, be an eligible voter, not have changed party affiliation within one year prior to appointment, and not be either a candidate or the spouse, parent, sibling or child of a candidate who is to be voted for in the election.
Precinct election officers are paid at $60 per election, plus additional compensation for mileage and mandatory training.
