(PADUCAH, Ky.) — Residents across western Kentucky can expect a taste of authentic fall weather over the coming days, with cooler temperatures and clear skies moving into the region.

High temperatures are forecast to reach the 70s through the week, accompanied by sunny conditions. Overnight lows will dip into the 40s and lower 50s for most areas.

The coldest night of the season so far is expected Thursday night, when temperatures in some locations could fall into the upper 30s. Weather officials say northern parts of the region may see the season’s first patchy frost as a result of the cold snap.

The cooler pattern marks a notable shift from recent warmer conditions and signals the arrival of more typical autumn weather for the area.
