(MURRAY, Ky.) — Murray State University will kick off its basketball season with Racer Mania Fan Fest on Sunday, October 26, at the CFSB Center, offering fans free admission to meet athletes and watch the men’s team in exhibition action.
The annual preseason celebration will open its doors at 2:30 p.m. with free parking and first-come, first-served seating. The event centers around a 4 p.m. exhibition game featuring the Racer men’s basketball team against Northern State.
“Racer Mania is the official celebration to tip off a new season of Murray State Basketball,” said MSU Women’s Head Coach Rechelle Turner. “This annual tradition provides fans with the opportunity to meet and welcome our players, enjoy exciting events such as the 3-point contest, and feel the energy of Racer Nation as we begin a new year together.”
The afternoon will feature multiple fan engagement opportunities. Upon entry, attendees can meet the women’s basketball team, collect schedule posters, obtain autographs, and take photos with championship trophies. The Junior Racers Kids Club Zone will be open during the pregame festivities.
At halftime of the men’s exhibition, the women’s team will be introduced and compete in the championship round of their Green Light Shooter competition, showcasing the team’s top 3-point shooters. Following the men’s game, players will remain for autographs and photos.
“We are very excited to get the season going and to introduce our team to Racer Nation,” said MSU Men’s Head Coach Ryan Miller. “We’ve built a team that our fans can be proud of and to have Racer Mania on a day when we also play a game will make for an event not to be missed.”
Turner also invited fans to attend the defending MVC Women’s Champion Racers exhibition game on November 3.
