(BENTON, Ky.) — The Marshall County Fiscal Court will convene Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. to address a packed agenda including a budget amendment, Aurora Park development, and several personnel matters.
Emergency Management Director Curt Curtner is scheduled to appear before the court regarding an emergency management appointment, according to the meeting agenda released this week.
The court will conduct a second reading of Ordinance 2025-08, a budget amendment initially introduced at the September 15th special called meeting. Minutes from that special session are also slated for approval.
Infrastructure projects feature prominently on the agenda. Magistrates will consider a contract with Paul Cloud Engineering for work at the Aurora Plant, as well as matters related to Aurora Park development.
In housing-related business, the court will review a Home Team contract connected to a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) housing initiative.
Personnel matters dominate the new business section, with the court set to review September personnel changes, consider new hires, review a training incentive proposal for the Sheriff’s department, and make at least one board appointment.
The court will also consider a proclamation recognizing Kentucky Extension Homemakers’ Week and discuss rescheduling the November 4th meeting.
Before adjourning, magistrates are expected to enter executive session to discuss pending litigation and personnel matters, as permitted under Kentucky’s Open Meetings Act.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Marshall County Fiscal Court chambers.
