Calloway County High School Principal Resigns

MURRAY, Ky. — Calloway County High School Principal Bobby Love has resigned from his position, citing personal reasons, according to local reports published Wednesday.

Love’s departure comes just three months after he assumed the role in July, marking an abrupt end to what many expected would be a long tenure leading the school.

In a letter to parents and guardians, Superintendent Tres Settle confirmed that Love submitted his resignation Tuesday evening and will not return to campus for the remainder of the academic year. The superintendent did not elaborate on the specific circumstances surrounding the resignation.

“Although this situation is unfortunate, we are committed to promptly selecting a qualified interim principal,” Settle wrote in the communication.

Until a permanent replacement is named, assistant principals Patrick Keeney and Lynsey Smith will share leadership duties as co-principals.

Love brought extensive experience to the principal’s office. According to the Calloway County Schools, Love spent the previous three years as an assistant principal at CCHS before his promotion. Prior to that, he served four years as principal of Livingston County Middle School.

His educational career also includes classroom teaching in special education and physical education across Marshall, Christian, and Fayette counties. Throughout his career, Love has taken on additional leadership responsibilities in coaching and extracurricular activities.
