
(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.)-The Marshall County School District has launched a new monthly recognition program celebrating the dedication and hard work of its educators and support staff. The initiative, which began in September, aims to honor the contributions of teachers, administrators, and various support personnel across the district.
This month’s recognition highlights 24 exceptional district employees representing diverse roles throughout the school system. The honored staff members span multiple categories, showcasing the collaborative effort required to maintain effective educational operations.
September’s Honorees
Among those recognized are ten classroom teachers from various grade levels. Elementary educators receiving recognition include Danielle Tyler, Bethany Jones, Paige Fletcher, Brittany King, Emily Yates, and Kenita Southerland. Middle school representation comes from teachers Nathan McDowell and Kelly Locker, while high school teacher Jenny Darnall and MC Academy educator Leigh Gideon complete the teaching honorees.
Administrative recognition goes to Jill Darnall, who serves as principal at Central Elementary School.
The district’s healthcare support is represented by nurses Lara Chancellor and Angela Gordon, while educational support comes from instructional assistants Tosha Clark, Krista Melone, and Patricia Freeland.
Behind-the-scenes operations are acknowledged through the recognition of cafeteria workers Travis Hicks and Valerie Smith, custodial staff Lisa O’Bryan, Bob Matthews, and Dawn Espinosa, central office personnel Megan Sesser and Teddy Thompson, and bus driver Kevin Stephens.
