Kentucky State Police Honor Fallen Trooper at Memorial Service

(LYON COUNTY, Ky.) — Kentucky State Police Post 1 troopers gathered Saturday morning to honor the memory of Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder on the anniversary of his death with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony and memorial service.

The memorial service took place at 9:54 a.m. CT at the flag pole marking Trooper Ponder’s memorial site, located near the 49-mile marker of Interstate 24 in Lyon County. Kentucky State Police officers, members of Trooper Ponder’s family, and community members who wished to pay their respects attended the ceremony.
