
(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.)-The Marshall County Lady Marshals volleyball team suffered a heartbreaking five-set defeat at home against Graves County Thursday evening, losing 3-2 in a match that showcased both teams’ determination and resilience.
The visiting Eagles edged out the Lady Marshals in a closely contested battle with set scores of 27-25, 18-25, 17-25, 25-23, and 8-25. The match featured dramatic momentum swings, with each team claiming victories in alternating sets before Graves County dominated the decisive fifth set.
Marshall County showed their fighting spirit early, nearly capturing the opening set before falling 27-25. The Lady Marshals bounced back strong in the second and third sets, winning convincingly 25-18 and 25-17 to take a 2-1 match advantage. However, Graves County responded with a 25-23 victory in the fourth set to force the decisive fifth frame, where they pulled away with a commanding 25-8 win.
The Lady Marshals will look to rebound from this tough loss when they travel to face Murray High on Tuesday for their next match.
