
(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.) – In a hard-fought volleyball showdown Thursday evening, the Marshall County Lady Marshals outlasted the visiting Ballard Memorial Lady Bombers in an intense five-set thriller, claiming victory 3-2.
The match showcased the competitive spirit of both squads, with momentum swinging back and forth throughout the evening. Marshall County dropped the opening set 24-26 but quickly responded with a commanding 25-18 win in the second. The Lady Marshals maintained their rhythm in the third set, taking it 25-21 to build a 2-1 advantage.
However, Ballard Memorial refused to fold, forcing a decisive fifth set by winning the fourth frame 26-24. In the winner-take-all finale, Marshall County held their nerve to secure a narrow 15-13 victory and the match.
The Lady Marshals will look to build on this momentum when they host Graves County next Thursday at home.
