Body of Missing Aurora Woman Kathryn Pipitone Found, Positively Identified

(AURORA, Ky.)-The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that the body of Kathryn Pipitone, who had been missing for nearly two months, has been recovered and positively identified.

Pipitone was reported missing from her Aurora, Kentucky residence on June 28, 2025. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office worked in cooperation with the Marshall County Coroner’s Office throughout the search and recovery process.

The body was transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville on Monday, August 26, where forensic analysis confirmed Pipitone’s identity.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Pipitone family at this difficult time,” the Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release.

The case remains an active investigation under the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office. Officials said additional information cannot be released to the public until all forensic analysis has been completed.

No details about the circumstances surrounding Pipitone’s death or the location where her body was discovered have been made available at this time.

The investigation marks the end of a nearly two-month search that began when family members reported Pipitone missing from her home in the small Marshall County community of Aurora.
