Marshall County Mountain Bikers Finish 4th in Owensboro

(OWENSBORO, Ky.)-Marshall County High School’s Mountain Bike team delivered an impressive 4th place overall result in Race #1 of the Kentucky Interscholastic Cycling League at Rudy Mine Trail.  The Orange and Blue riders competed across four different categories and posted several top finishes.

Leading the charge for Marshall County was Emma Roberts, who claimed third place in Varsity Girls with a time of 1:41:43.46 across four challenging laps. Her consistent performance throughout the race helped establish Marshall County’s presence in the most competitive division.

Brady Atkins represented the Marshals well in Varsity Boys, securing fifth place overall with a solid time of 1:26:04.77 over the demanding four-lap course.

The team’s depth was on full display in the junior varsity categories. Amelia Miller dominated the JV2 Girls division, earning first place with an outstanding time of 58:05.94 over two laps, marking one of Marshall County’s strongest individual performances of the day.

In JV1 Boys, Nathan Downs posted a respectable tenth-place finish with a time of 1:06:48.49, while teammate Dalton Powell finished 21st at 1:12:03.68.

The JV2 Boys category featured three Marshall County riders, with Max Dittman leading the group with a 12th-place finish at 50:05.64. Gannon DeClue followed closely behind in eighth place with 48:39.04, while Adam Miller placed 22nd (31:45 + 33:00 = 1:04:46.75) and Avery Criswell finished 23rd at 1:07:29.48.

In the JV3 Boys division, the Marshals fielded two competitors: Nate Boone claimed fifth place with a time of 50:44.54, and Mason Hall finished 15th at 56:29.88.

The team will next be in action September 13-14 in Race #2 of the Kentucky Interscholastic Cycling League at the England Idlewild Park in Burlington.
