(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) — Calvert City police cited two individuals for marijuana-related offenses in separate incidents over the weekend.
On Thursday, August 22, a police officer conducting routine patrol at Food Giant noticed a customer leaving the store who appeared to smell of cannabis. When questioned, the individual voluntarily admitted to possessing marijuana and handed over a small wooden container holding three pre-rolled joints. Edward R. Wilson, 75, of Lone Valley Road in Calvert City, received citations for marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession.
The following day, officers responded to a suspicious activity report at the Calvert City Drive-In. A caller reported observing someone rolling what appeared to be a joint while sitting in a white Chevrolet Impala near the facility’s restrooms. Police made contact with the vehicle’s occupant and detected the smell of marijuana. When questioned, the individual cooperated by providing officers with a blunt and a clear plastic bag containing marijuana. Devin Zachariah Davis, 30, of Henerson Road in New Concord, was issued citations for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Both incidents resulted in citations rather than arrests, following standard procedure for minor marijuana possession cases in the jurisdiction.
