(BENTON, Ky.) — A multi-county drug trafficking investigation culminated in a significant arrest this week when law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at a Marshall County residence, seizing substantial quantities of illegal drugs, cash, and weapons.
Johnathan Collins, 53, of Boone Hill Road, was taken into custody following the Wednesday morning raid conducted by Marshall County Sheriff’s Office detectives with assistance from the department’s Special Response Team.
The search yielded more than a pound of methamphetamine, approximately half a pound of cocaine, and over $40,000 in cash, according to authorities. Officers also confiscated more than 25 firearms, digital scales, and additional drug paraphernalia from the property.
The operation was part of a collaborative investigation involving the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, and Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Collins faces three felony charges:
- First-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
- First-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
Collins is being held pending arraignment. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has not released information about bond status at this time.
