(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.) — The Marshall County Marshals are set to kick off their 2025 football season under the lights at Carroll Traylor Stadium/Jim Shelton Field this evening at 7:00 p.m.

Head Coach Nick Bloodworth enters his second year at the helm of the Class 5A, District 1 program as the Marshals welcome the Class 2A, District 1 Crittenden County Rockets for their home openerp.

Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony

The evening will feature a special pregame ceremony honoring the 2025 Marshall County Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. This year’s class celebrates a diverse group of contributors to the school’s athletic legacy:

Individual Inductees:

  • Stephen Son (former Soccer Coach and Teacher)
  • Donna Perry (Contributor)
  • Bill Murphy (Contributor)
  • Nolan Nichols (Athlete)
  • Daniel Ard (Athlete)
  • Justin Ard (Athlete)
  • Brigette Howard (Athlete)
  • Shea Sheppard (Athlete)

Team Inductee: The 1998 Marshall County Football team, coached by the legendary Jim Shelton, will also be enshrined. This historic squad set program records with 11 total wins and 10 consecutive victories. Their memorable season included a breakthrough victory over Paducah Tilghman — the first varsity win against the Blue Tornado in program history — and they handed eventual Class 2A State Champion Caldwell County their only defeat of the Tigers championship season.

Season Outlook

The Marshals face a challenging schedule in 2025, with just four home games compared to six road contests. Coming off a 3-7 record in 2024, Coach Bloodworth’s squad will look to build momentum from their season-opening performance against Crittenden County.
