(PADUCAH, Ky.)-The Paducah community will join a powerful nationwide movement this fall when it hosts the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s 2025 Out of the Darkness Walk on September 20, 2025, at the West Kentucky Community & Technical College campus.
This local walk is part of a larger initiative spanning hundreds of communities across the United States, collectively bringing together more than 250,000 participants committed to raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention.
The Out of the Darkness Community Walk serves as both a memorial and a beacon of hope, creating space for remembrance while fostering support within the community. The event provides participants an opportunity to honor those affected by suicide and mental health challenges, whether in their own lives or in the lives of loved ones.
“This walk represents our community’s commitment to creating a culture that prioritizes mental health awareness and support,” organizers emphasized, highlighting the importance of community engagement in addressing these critical issues.
The walk aims to unite local residents in a shared mission of support, education, and advocacy, reinforcing the message that no one faces mental health struggles alone.
