WESTLAKE CORPORATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO EIGHT COLLEGE-BOUND WESTERN KENTUCKY STUDENTS

(Calvert City, Ky.)—Westlake Corporation, a global manufacturer of essential products used in housing, construction, packaging, and healthcare, has proudly awarded scholarships to eight students of its Calvert City employees, furthering its mission of helping the next generation of community leaders pursue higher education.

“We’re honored to invest in the academic studies of these eight dedicated and deserving students of our employees,” said Ivan Birrell, Senior Plant Manager at Westlake Calvert City. “We look forward to seeing all the success they will achieve over the next four years and beyond.”

For over 29 years, Westlake Corporation has recognized and rewarded high-achieving high school seniors in North America through its Westlake Scholarship Program.

“Our scholarship program is one way we invest in the lives of our youth and in the welfare of our communities,” said Joel Gray, senior vice president of human resources at Westlake Corporation. “At Westlake, we’re committed to more than just manufacturing—we’re committed to making a difference.”

The following students are Calvert City recipients of the 2025 Westlake Scholarship:

  • Anistyn Treas – Marshall County High School
  • Ayla Conner – Marshall County High School
  • Carlee Myhand – McCracken County High
  • Carter Ivitts – McCracken County High
  • Colby Warren – Mayfield High School
  • Kyzer Phillips – Marshall County High School
  • Preston Birrell – Caldwell County High School
  • Taryn Henry – Marshall County High School

Each student’s application was evaluated based on grade point average, ACT/SAT scores, strength of curriculum and extracurricular activities. Students must be dependents of regular, full-time Westlake employees who have at least one year of service with the company.

Describing this year’s applicants, Gray stated, “The average award recipient has a GPA of 3.84 and ranks in the top 17% of their senior class. Many of these scholars have made significant contributions through numerous volunteer and civic activities. We congratulate the total 125 student scholarship-recipients and their parents for the significant accomplishments in the classroom and the communities in which they live.”
