
Deegan Croley is the 2025 State Champion in the shot put and the Marshals track and field team placed 10th out of 45 teams at Saturday’s Class 3A KHSAA State Track & Field Championships in Lexington.
Croley is already a State Champion in shot this season, securing the indoor state title in early March. Now a back-to-back state champion in the event having won the outdoor title last season with a throw of 56-6. He passed that mark on Saturday with a throw of 57-6.25. Croley, an incoming senior, took third in the discus with 161-5.
Another top finish for the Marshals came from Kobey Yates who finished third in the 3200 meters with a time of 9:16.75.
Owen Futrell placed sixth in the 800 meters, finishing with a time of 1:57.08. Just out of the top 10 was pole vaulter Golovin Williams with a 12th place finish with a height of 11-6.
Trinity (Louisville) won the state team title while McCracken County finished fourth.
