She was a member of Rozzell Chapel Presbyterian Church and a retired nurse.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Lewis “Benny” Smith; two sons, Bobby (Kristina) Smith and Benny Joe (Mistie) Smith both of Mayfield, KY; seven grandchildren, Joe Ben Smith, Destiny Smith, Hunter Legens, Brady Legens, Hannah Smith, Freya Blake and Preston Blake; and one great grandchild, Oliver Rodgers.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Rusty Gilliam and her parents, Virgil and Frances Horn Gilliam.
Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Gilliam Smith will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Fred Fahl will officiate. Interment will follow at Rozzell Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Josh Carter, Robert Garland, Preston Blake, Brandon Lee and Joe Ben Smith.
Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
